Overview In order to achive a successful remote connection you should Obtain a static IP address for the broadband connection at the DVR site Use an ADSL modem router equipped with an ethernet network port Determine the IP address & subnet mask used by the router (ie: it s factory defaults) Configure the network settings within the DVR (checking the other network settings at the same time) Configure the network settings on the PC Check PC to DVR connectivity locally Configure the router - q with username, password & connection details in order to establish an internet connection q to direct incoming connections to the DVR Determine the IP Address & Subnet Mask used by the Router Read the manual supplied with the router to determine the factory default IP address assigned internally to the router. Some providers charge for this service, others do not. You should request a static IP address from your internet service provider. This remote PC should also have a broadband connection.
